Monstrous Slackness

February 16, 2005

I've been feeling unwell (cough and cold, hardly serious but it has made me very demotivated to do anything at all!), but now I'm feeling a lot better after sleeping for a couple of days, so hello!
I haven't knitted a single stitch since I finished my Magknits project (DAYS ago). I've read lots of times of people being in knitting funks and not wanting to make anything, but I've never really felt that myself, until now. Everything is REALLY uninspiring! I don't want to work on anything I've got going, or anything from my stash either. What's the best way of breaking out of this? Because unless I do this blog will get even more boring (as if weeks of silence weren't enough).
Maybe I just need more vitamins!
I did a small amount of sewing before I got sick, so I hope to have something to show soon on that front.
Sigh, back soon :)

I think we've all had those crafty slumps. I always find trying to learn a completely new craft can kickstart me out of it.

It's probably a combination of things- Christmas, being sick...and I'm sure Rosa left you accomplished but a little drained. I think a trip to your favourtie yarn shop to treat yourself to new yarn & pattern would be the ticket!!

February is well known for this effect. Hang in there, get better and then throw caution to the winds--as Angela says, brand new yarn and patterns are good tonics for this ailment. Maybe that's why I end up with so many UFOs!

Hope you feel better soon.

hope you feel better! i think it's okay if you feel like not knitting. sometimes we all just need to take a little break. just think how inspired you will be after a while away from the needles!

I'm actually almost envious of your state of not wanting to knit... it's so different from my own rather obsessive craving to knit EVERYTHING. I'd say take advantage of this downtime and explore other stuff - sewing, jewelry, or just resting up. Hope you feel better soon! Oh, and your Rosa is absolutely gorgeous! I cited her on my blog the other day. :)
