Roxie Rox my Sox! (I know, I know, awful!)

March 15, 2005

This weekend I had nothing to do (that's A LIE, I had plenty to do, but couldn't be bothered), so apart from going to London and hanging out with my old school friend Jess (she of the plaid mittens), I worked on Roxie.

A note on the following pictures - the colour came out rubbish for some mystery reason. Look at my first post on Roxie to see her true majestic CHOCOLATE colour!

Here's the completed back:

And (I was speeding along), here are the completed fronts:

Only two rather large sleeves to go! Plus I need to buy a hook and eye for the front fastening.
I'm torn - I'm loving knitting this jacket (chunky print is ace), but also I want it finished so I can wear it! I also am itching to snip all those loops and attack them with my hairbrush to make them all shaggy. But I really think it's best that I wait until I've seamed her and tried her on!

Hi Jen it's Caz from Southampton (Adams friend). I'm loving your latest projects they are great. I'm really impressed with your skills. I tried knitting recently and ended up in a whole heap of trouble. I love the look of your chocolatey number hope the end fluffing goes well! All my love to you both and hope to catch up with you guys in the near future!

Oh! I love this! I wouldn't mind it keeping it loopy instead of shaggy if she were mine. Of course, those loops might get all knotty, too, though. She's a beaut!

Hey Jen! I just wanted to say two things. First, I didn't have my job thing figured out AT ALL by graduation. And it was hard, but I made it through and even found a job I really liked eventually (until I had kids and now I'm home with them) so hang in there! Second, I like all of the same designs that you do from Rowan 37. I really think I'm going to make Hike as I think I'll get a lot of use out of it. I agree about the boring st st but I like to have at least one "boring"/easy project on the needles for movie knitting. Your latest projects look great!

Roxie is looking great! And I love your completed Sis (the colour is gorgeous) and your latest design for Magknits. Great job! You're so productive. ^_^

I love your FO's. Don't sweat the job thing, selecting a career that's perfect for you is definitely not easy. But if I were you, I'd look into fashion and designing. You definitely have a knack for it.

Re: The Job Situation... one of the hardest things for me in my first couple of years out of college was really figuring out how I wanted to use my life and the degree I had just earned- it was stressful and I thought I had a pretty clear and straight path out of college- ha! Couldn't be further from the truth, thank goodness. I just stayed open to the fact that I don't have to lock myself in to any one thing, and that was a really freeing revalation to me.

Re: the jacket- looks great! Your wait-to-cut instincts are good, but you much be going crazy! I would probably have cut, then regretted it big time.
