Cotton Dress!
June 24, 2005
Thanks for the comments on Elspeth! I have also finished one of the secret projects, so now onto the others! One of them is less secret so I'll show it next week I reckon.
But for now, here's the dress/top I made from the fabric I bought last friday :) It was pretty quick and nice to do some sewing! I have a ton more fabric to use to I should do some more really - especially as I need summer clothes really badly!

Right, back to working on the secret knitting projects. Somehow knitting is less fun when it HAS to be done.....still loving it though really :)

So cute. I have been wanting to try that shirring type of technique myself. It has such a cool look.

That top is so cute! I love when you post your sewing stuff, as I'm migrating more and more to sewing rather than knitting these days. Such talent!

That is so pretty, I lvoed the fabric when you showed it to me but I never imagined it would look so cute as a dress / top. Beautiful and just the weather for it at the moment too!

Jen! I have a lot of issues of this (all of the first three volumes, and most of the fourth, I think) that I just don't have room to store. Do you want them? I was going to eBay them, but you can have them for just the postage if you like.. :)
(de-lurking here...)

That is fab. And you look amazing in it. I've heard of those mags but never seen them. You're so lucky your mum kept them all.

I remember Golden Hands too. My mum got them and stashed them but I can'tr remember her ever sewing anything. She must have bought them for the Knitting patterns.

What a cool top!! Love it!
I remember being a little girl in the 70's and having a top similar to that and my big sister having a matching one. They are so cool!
Is the shirring difficult to do?

You are SO talented!! I love this top! I've seen tops like this in stores and wanted to buy a couple (yours is actually better). Great job :) How is Jemma coming?

Really, really pretty. Love the fabric and the shape of it - isn't it nice to think that you will never meet anybody else wearing the same thing and looking so gorgeous?
