Finished Organic Wool Jumper!

December 29, 2005

I hope everyone had a good Christmas - mine was dead good, lots of presents, too much food (but very nice food!), and it was lovely to be home with my family.

I gave my Dad his jumper too, and so now I've got photos. He has been wearing it a lot too, hopefully not just cos I was around :)
As well as giving a knitting gift I also got a knitting gift - another Kim Hargreaves kit, hooray! More on that next time.

Anyway, here is the jumper - click on the little photo for more photos and details:

I'll be back in the new year, have a good one!

I am staggeringly dappy.

I finished my Dad's jumper last night. I think it looks pretty smashing! It's definitely not the softest wool, but he knows that so is buying a T-shirt to wear underneath. Well, anyway, I then wrapped it without taking a photo! This is the only thing I've finished in ages (well, big project) as I've been so busy, and I can't show it!!
I'll definitely put some photos of it being worn up in the new year, but until then you'll just have to take my word for it!

Merry Christmas everyone :)

Slowly but surely....

December 12, 2005

Getting along with my Dad's Christmas jumper! Well, it probably looks like a leap along since last time I posted about it, as I've finished a sleeve and the front since then! I've been in college for the last 2 weeks, on a revision course for the exams I have today (!) and tomorrow, but every lunch time I would knit for an hour as my brain needed a break and there was nothing else to do. Here it is so far:

I've held it up over various bemused males and it seems to be a good size, as far as I can tell!!

You can't tell from that photo (I'm having difficulty photographing this dark brown yarn with any detail showing) but it has a textured st on the body pieces and plain st st sleeves. I'm pretty sure I can get the final sleeve done and it all sewn up before Christmas - although less than 2 weeks to go - how did that happen?!

Christmas crafts - and new hair!

December 04, 2005

In between working for exams for work, there has been a bit of the old craftiness around here :)
Every year Adam's lab has a Christmas party, and they all have to make fancy hats. Adam may be the lovliest man who ever lived, but he does not have a crafty bone in his body, so I have to secretly make the hats (god I love it)! Last year we/I made a wizard hat, with glittery stars and moons and little molecules from Adam's experiment all over it, that one was pretty cool. This year I made a crown! It was going to be a christmas tree hat, but in the art shop we found some stick on gems and changed to a crown. It is very big and has King written on the front for added importance!

Close up of King:

Close up of gems:

Hooray!

Also, I had my long hair cut off, not crafty I know but very important to me and it's my blog so there :)
It's still long I guess, but about 6 inches came off! It was in slightly crappy condition, now it's so silky and smooth!

Back with more knitting soon!
