OK I lied - more sewing!

January 21, 2006

I was planning to blog about some knitting, but I haven't really done much and it isn't very interesting (I've just finished a sleeve of my Kim Hargreaves kit that I got for Christmas). So here's some more sewing instead! I made this skirt a while ago, and had to hang it for 24 hours to set the bias before I hemmed it - well I still haven't hemmed it, but it's more like the right weather to wear it now, so I will asap.

Here it is!

I'm (reluctantly) going away with work for 2 weeks to France, as of tomorrow.....reluctantly because I have to stay for the weekend inbetween and I'll miss home. So I'll be away until then, but hopefully with some knitting to show from my free time over there when I get back!

I love your skirt so much that I think I'll make one. I just bought a sewing machine but haven't used it yet. I haven't sewed since I was 12, but you have inspired me! Have fun in France.I'm stuck here in Texas.

Do I remember you buying that fabric from the cloth house or do I just think that I remember that? It looks lovely, where-ever you got it from!

I just LOVE it! I want to make one too. I think you are totally right about the pattern - it's cool how it doesn't match up, and it draws attention to the interesting construction. The shorts are great too. You're a real sewing inspiration!
