Back from France!
February 05, 2006
Hi all, and thanks for the comments on the skirt - glad you like it! I always worry when I flagrantly disregard recommendations for a pattern :) but I guess it's ok!
I had an ok time in France - I only saw much of the area at the weekend, as we were working in all daylight hours. We had some really nice meals out in the evenings though, and nice wine - although the French don't really get the concept of vegetarian! I always found something though!
I didn't want to clog up the main page with photos, but if you are interested I put a few from the weekend up here.
The area seemed really nice - I'd like to go back in the summer!
I got a fair bit of knitting done in the evenings as well - it just looks like a big brown splodge but here's my progress on the back of Hawthorn:

It may not look like, but I'm dead proud! It's teeny needles, and I'm always super slow on fine gauge projects. Also I really love the pattern.
Believe it or not, I'm being sent away this week as well (really this is not as fun as it sounds.....) to west Wales this time, so I'll update again this time next week I guess!

The pics of France look fantastic, I particularly love the first one - snow always makes everything look prettier :) Glad to hear your stay wasn't totally awful, I can understand how it can feel like a 'forced' trip, if you're being sent for work, but it's a trip none the less, isn't it? Oh, I know how you must have missed Adam... and next weekend too? Can't he come with you?
Take care xxx

Love your pics of Dinard and St.Malo! I've been a couple of times (which is lots when you live in Canada!) but always in the summer. It was so weird to see the snow in your pics! Have fun in Wales!

Oooh? You coming over to Wales? Lucky you - it's great here!
Hope you have a fabulous time - and if you're anywhere near the Mumbles (south west Wales - ish, but it's only little here), try to get to Mrs Macs wool shop. It's famous in south wales (mainly because there's a tragic wool shop shortage).

I just found your blog, and I totally love it! Yay! I tried to download your free dinosaur pattern, but I couldn't get it to come up. Any suggestions?
Take care,
Carla
