More crochet!

June 18, 2006

Firstly, my exams are over and were ok-ish, probably! I've got a month to fret about it before the results anyway.

More importantly, I got a v exciting, large package of new yarn! Carolyn sent me a ridiculously large amount of yarn - thanks Carolyn! There is enough for 2 projects, I have started the first one already, with a reckless disregard for all the other poor neglected current projects.

I bought Debbie Stoller's Stitch and Bitch Crochet book a couple of weeks ago and have been trying to decide what to make from it. I like some of the designs a lot (others not so much! Crochet can be a bit variable!). There was some very nice Knit One Crochet Too cotton which Carolyn sent, and I decided to use it to make the Prepster jacket:

I didn't really like the Prepster jacket at first, because of the way it was dressed up maybe? But then I saw some finished ones on Craftster and realised I like it a lot!

I started it already:

I'm enjoying it so far, but crochet does make my hands hurt a bit. I think if I do more I'll build up super strong crochet muscles and it will all get easier!

Also, I got some scrummy Peruvian highland wool. It feels lovely, and will make a cardi with very cool retro stripes.

Hooray for new yarn! I have also done a bit of work on the secret green thing from last time.

I'll try and update more regularly now my exams are finished and there is no more studying to be done until October :)
