Blue Sky Alpacas Cotton Tank

June 12, 2007

I'm glad you guys liked my holiday snaps! I really wish I was still on holiday....

This is my first piece of holiday knitting. Apologies in advance for the dark photos, Adam still has a bug from the travelling, and so I was lucky to get him to take any photos, there was no chance of going outside to take them! Thanks anyway poor thing xxx

I basically just made this up on the train, and started straight away, working out each part as I got there. It's a pretty simple tank, but I did all the shaping between the eyelet columns, so they get closer, then further apart, and finally come very close together around the neck - I like the way they look, it is pretty satisfying to make something simple look neat!

Also the yarn is very lovely, and I think I will enjoy wearing this one (I hope so anyway, I always think that and then never wear anything I make!).

The next couple of weeks I have decided must be finishing weeks. This means I have to weave in the ends and photograph about 5 different things, which are all only an evening away from being complete. It seems very silly to have them all sitting around! So now I've said that I expect I'll not manage a thing, but look out for lots of other finished things soon!

This is very nice, you write a pattern for it? I've got 5 skeins of this yarn in a bright pink. I know a friend of mine who loves hot pink and would look so good in this.

I love your tank -- and I will have to try that yarn. Also, you must wear your handknits! ... for the benefit of society, if not yourself!

Welcome back! Glad you had such an amazing holiday. China is somewhere I would love to explore properly, for the moment I will have to make do with your photos!
I love the top and I think you should wear it!

Your little tank is great....I also have some BSA cotton, one skein that I bought because I loved the softness and color. Surely you'll write up this little number? (AND wear it, of course!)

Welcome back from your trip. Great photos - it really reminds me of my similar trip to China 6 years.
