Pink Frill Scarf

I made this over the top scarf partly on various flights to and around China, and finished it at home when I returned. I just wanted to make it as big and frilly and possible, in order to use the full 5 balls of yarn (Rowan Kidsoft) that I had. However, since it was all bunched up on my lap on a plane, I didn't realise how ridiculously long it was until I'd done too much to go back! So I decided to sew it in half, and now it's fine - better in fact since it's more frilly. Instructions are at the bottom.

Here's some photos of the scarf after crocheting, but before stitching in half! It's very silly!

In this photo it was wrapped around my neck 4 times!

And the finished scarf, after it was all sewn up:

Here's how to make it:

Crochet a chain 160 inches long (yes I know it's very long!). Work a row of treble crochet into the chain (I believe this is called double crochet in the US).

2nd row: ch 3, work 1 treble into first st from hook, work 2 trebles into every st to end of row.

3rd row: ch 3 miss first st, work 1 treble into every st.

4th row: repeat 2nd row, fasten off.

Finishing: Fold the entire scarf in half, and pin together along the foundation chain, and stitch.

The finished scarf is 80 inches long.
